Job Details:
Global provider of security systems seeks highly accomplished leader to serve in the position of Senior Director of Taxes within the corporate offices in the south bay area.
DUTIES:
-Overall responsibility for all aspects of our client's complex international tax function, including compliance, provisions, planning, audits, analysis and consulting relationships.
-Develop a detailed understanding of the business drivers in each of this company's divisions and establish sound working relationships and lines of communications with key individuals located throughout the world.
-Possess outstanding technical skills, especially oriented towards international operations.
-Proactively address tax issues and tax planning opportunities, as well as efficiently manage the discharge of all tax compliance requirements ranging from federal and state returns to local country returns to sales and use tax returns, among others.
-Have a true collaborative approach to problem-solving, be team oriented and has a hands-on approach to managing the function.
-Serve as the technical “go to†source and strategic thinker for all issues related to taxation.
-Ensure the timely and accurate discharge of all tax compliance responsibilities.
-Proactively identify and strategize tax saving opportunities.
-Manage the complex tax functions
-Work closely and proactively with the Vice President – Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer to raise tax issues and tax optimization opportunities.
-Manage the variety of tax audits that our client encounters on an ongoing basis.
-Actively seek ways to utilize technology to support the tax function and make processes and data gathering more efficient.
-Actively nurture relationships with key individuals to quickly identify and proactively address tax issues.
-Closely monitor worldwide tax accounting and tax payments, as well as projected payments to support cash management.
-Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions for financial reporting purposes.
-Consult with key individuals as business development or other significant opportunities arise to strategically structure deals to optimize our client’s tax position.
Ideal Experience:
- Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to work well with other strong personalities.
- Broad international tax background, including management level with a major public accounting firm.
- Experience in a growth-oriented, multi-national, manufacturing and sales organization.
- Global perspective and international experience, including the ability to work effectively across a complex global financial footprint.
- Significant experience in international tax planning.
- CPA preferred; although not required.
- Success as a change agent.
